Once the installation and configuration process is complete for both ProjectExplorer 4 for Autodesk Civil 3D
and the License Configuration Tool for
ProjectExplorer, start Autodesk Civil 3D and navigate to the "Add-ins" tab on the main ribbon.
You should now find a "ProjectExplorer" entry on the ribbon.
Click the new ProjectExplorer icon to start ProjectExplorer,
or hit "F1" to open the Quick Start help file. The product can also be started by typing "PROJECTEXPLORER" on the AutoCAD Command Line.
Troubleshooting for Floating Network Licenses
If ProjectExplorer for Autodesk Civil 3D is unable to obtain a license from the Network License Service, refer to the following
troubleshooting guide which lists error messages caused by commonly encountered problems.

Communication was successfully established with the license server but no valid licenses for this product were found.
A product license has not been installed or activated on the license server, or an existing product license has expired.
Contact your system administrator for assistance.
There was no endpoint listening at "http:// hostname / CvxNetworkLicensingSvc / LicenseServer /" that could accept the message.
Communication could not be established with the License Server.
Check that the Network License Service is running on the network license server and that there are no errors in
the log file.
Check that the communication port specified in the License Configuration
Tool matches that of the Network License Service on the license server.
Check that this port is not being blocked by
firewall software on either the license client or the license server.
The request channel timed out attempting to send after 00:01:00. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase
the SendTimeout value on the binding. The time alloted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.
Communication with the License Server has been lost whilst a license was checked out.
