Prerequisites
ProjectExplorer 4 for Autodesk Civil 3D
supports and requires either:
Autodesk Civil 3D 2016
Autodesk Civil 3D 2017
Autodesk Civil 3D 2018
Licensing
ProjectExplorer 4 for Autodesk Civil 3D
may be installed in node-locked license mode, or (if your license agreement allows)
in floating network licensing mode.
The licensing technology used in this product is entirely independent of your AutoCAD license.
ProjectExplorer 4 for Autodesk Civil 3D
supports two licensing modes - standalone (SLM / local) licensing mode and
floating network (NLM) licensing mode. Choose an installation procedure based on your preferred licensing mode,
and the licensing terms chosen at the time of purchase.
Do you have a License Key?
At the time of purchase, you received a License Certificate containing your unique product
License Key(s). Please ensure that you have your License Key(s) to hand before you commence the installation process.
License Key Format
The license key format has not changed in this ProjectExplorer release. There is no requirement to reactivate your ProjectExplorer license with a new license key when
upgrading to this release.
Option 1
Install a Standalone (SLM) License
The following instructions will guide you through setting up ProjectExplorer 4 for Autodesk Civil 3D
using a
standalone (node locked) license or as a 30 day product trial:
Install one or more Floating Network (NLM) Licenses
Alternatively, if your license agreement permits, the following instructions will guide you through
setting up ProjectExplorer 4 for Autodesk Civil 3D
using a floating network license:
Network License Service Installation (Server)
First, set up the Network License Service for ProjectExplorer on a License Server.
